Movie 1. Monitoring transfected cells in vivo. In vivo imaging of EGFP fluorescence in cells in the lateral ventricle. Ten days after transfection of organically modified silica/pEGFP-N2, mice were subjected to the second stereotaxic surgery, and a miniature fiber-optic probe (350-mm tip; Cell-viZio, Discovery Technology, Sarasota, FL) was inserted into the anterior dorsal region of the lateral ventricle >15 mm from the medial ventricular wall. Dynamic sequences were recorded and are shown on a real-time display at 12 frames per second.
