Supporting information for Johnson et al. (2003) Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA, 10.1073/pnas.0630532100

Supporting Movie 1

Movie 1. Catalysis in the BF polymerase crystal. A complete cycle of nucleotide incorporation is depicted at the polymerase active site, summarizing the motions believed to take place in the BF polymerase crystals on addition of dNTP (see main text). This movie is based on the open and closed conformations observed in the BF crystal structures. The protein is shown in yellow and the O and O1 helices that define the template preinsertion site are orange. The DNA primer (green) and template (red) strands are also shown. The incoming dNTP and the complementary template base are cyan. See the main article for a complete description of the catalytic cycle.
