Fig. 6. (a) Expression of IFN-a and IFN-b in IRF5-/- MEFs. WT and IRF5-deficient MEFs were infected with 7.5 HA units (HAU) of Newcastle disease virus (NDV) for the indicated periods. Tatal RNA was prepared and subjected to RNA blot analysis. RNA blot analysis was performed as described previously (1). (b) Nuclear localization of IRF5 upon virus infection. YFP-IRF5 expression vectors was as described previously (2). MEFs were transfected with YFP-IRF5 expression vector. After 12 h, MEFs were infected with 7.5 HAU of NDV (Right) or untreated (Left). Nuclear localization of IRF5 was obserbed after 12 h of infection.
