Individual and Student/Postdoc subscriptions are for personal use only and are not to be used for a library. To qualify for these rates, you must pay by personal check, money order, or credit card, and must state that your subscription is for personal use only. To qualify for the Student/Postdoc rates, your order must also be accompanied by a letter from your advisor or supervisor, on institutional letterhead, stating that you are enrolled in a program of study leading to a degree or that you are within 4 years of receiving a doctorate.
Subscriptions to PNAS are based on a calendar year (January to December). Prepayment in U.S. currency is required before the subscription can be started. Make remittance payable to the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Foreign remittance must be by draft on a U.S. Bank, wire transfer, or credit card (VISA, MasterCard, or American Express).

Institutions subscribing in DC, MD, and Canada must add appropriate sales tax or provide a copy of the tax exemption certificate. All DC and MD subscriptions paid at the individual rate are taxable. Claims for damaged or missing issues will not be honored more than 60 days after the issue date for domestic subscribers and not more than 90 days after the issue date for foreign subscribers. Claims will not be honored for more than two issues per calendar year for the same subscriber. Send correspondence regarding claims for missing issues to:
