Correction for Singh et al., Increasing potential for intense tropical and subtropical thunderstorms under global warming

Piotr Łukasik et al. found that a cicada endosymbiont evolved from a single ancestor into multiple lineages that coexist within the same host. The lineages have widely varying but highly reduced genomes and rely on each other to survive and cooperate to provide the same nutritional benefits to their host as the ancestral symbiont.
